The Correct Way To Cook Instant Noodles

Please note that our Institute Jantung Negara (IJN) has recommended Malaysians not to over eat instant noodles as heart disease is mainly caused by the seasoning powder. If you can't do without it, reduce the powder by half and don't drink the soup after you finish the noodle.

DO NOT IGNORE THIS ... Especially those fond of Maggi...

'CORRECT WAY OF COOKING NOODLES'

The correct way to cook instant noodles without harming our bodies and health:  Normally, how we cook the instant noodles is to put the noodles into a pot with water, throw in the powder and let it cook for around 3 minutes and then it's ready to eat.

This is the WRONG method of cooking the instant noodles.

By doing this, when we actually boil the ingredients in the powder,normally with MSG, it will change the molecular structure ofthe MSG, causing it to be toxic.

The other thing that you may or may not realize is that, the noodles are coated with wax and it will take around 4 to 5 days for the body to excrete the wax after you have eaten the noodles.

CORRECT METHOD:
1. Boil the noodles in a pot of water.

2. Once the noodles are cooked, take out the noodles, and throw away
the water which contains wax.

3. Boil another pot of water, add the cooked noodles into the hot
boiling water and then turn off the stove.

4. Only at this stage when the stove is off, and while the water is
very hot, add the flavouring powder into the water, to make noodle
soup.

5. However, if you need dry noodles, remove the noodles and add the
flavouring powder and toss it to get dry noodles.

Dietician's Note:

If you buy plain hakka noodles which you make, you initially need to boil in water and discard the water. This will soften the noodles but to prevent it from sticking we need to add a tbsp of oil and also the noodles are deep fried partially to make them crunchy and then dusted with flour to prevent them from sticking while boiling. Hence when you buy the noodles they are already made unhealthy and this is the type we use to make stir fry noodles and the regular Maggi too is made the same way, plus they add MSG / Ajinomoto and other chemical preservatives.

A large number of patients with ages ranging from 18-24 years are ending up with pancreatitis either as a swelling or infection of the pancreas due to regular consumption of instant noodles...If the frequency is more than 3 times a week, then it is very hazardous...

Please share this info and help save a life

So...I have been eating instant noodles since college days (consumed a lot in those days)  the wrong way.

Thank you for the share Kak Feah..

Those Long Bygone Days..

Zaman Horey Horey

Had a nice surprise when my elder sister Teh, the happy gal 3rd from right posted this long ago picture on FB because I cannot recall this picture ever existed.  My sister, at the moment is into collecting old family pictures and recording stories of long ago from both our paternal and maternal older relatives for the benefit of our later generation in the family getting first hand knowledge of our Tok Nenek and our roots.

The picture above was taken on a Hari Raya day (early 60s) at our aunt's house who lives on the outskirts of KB.  Life was uncomplicated when we were young so thus the happy smiles on the girls faces. There's our two cousins between my late brother and Teh and between Teh and me.  Still wondering why was my younger sis socks black or was it painted over?

I salute you Teh on your keen effort in compiling our family's past history (hopefully into a book) just for our family's benefit and record :D

Adegan Yang Tak Ingin Kita Lihat

Inilah yang dikatakan tak dok penyakit cari penyakit!  No doubt it spiced up a dull day in school for the other kids.

Observations On Growing Older

TODAY IS THE OLDEST YOU'VE  EVER  BEEN, YET THE YOUNGEST YOU'LL  EVER BE;
SO ENJOY THIS DAY WHILE IT LASTS.

~Your Kids are becoming you...and you
don't like them...but your grandchildren are
Perfect!

~Going Out is good... Coming Home is better!

~You Forget names ... But it's OK

because other people forget they even Knew you!!!

~You realize you're never going to be

really good at anything ...

~Your spouse is counting on you to remember

things you don't remember.

~The things you used to care to do,
do care
that you don't care to do them anymore.

~You miss the days when everything
worked with just an "ON" and "OFF" Switch...

~You tend to use more 4 letter words ...

"what?"  ...  "when?"... ???

~Now that you can afford expensive jewelry,

 it's not safe to wear it anywhere.

~What used to be freckles are now liver spots.

~Everybody Whispers !!!

~Now that your husband has retired ....
You'd give anything if he'd find a job!

~You have 3 sizes of clothes in your closet ...

2 of which you will never wear.

~~~But Old is good in some things: Old songs,
Old movies, and best of all,
 OLD FRIENDS!!!
Thanks again Kak Feah for sharing  :)
Pencen Oh Pencen!
Lanjutan kepada pengumuman PM usia pencen untuk penjawat awam seluruh negara dilanjutkan ke usia 60 tahun...kakakanda yang sudah pencen  setahun dengan murah hati meluahkan isi hatinya berkenaan isu ini...
Bajet 2012 petang tadi,.. PM umumkan usia persaraan dilanjutkan ke 60 tahun... 'Oh dah jadi macam rakan-rakan sejawat di Thailand, pencen lewat 60 tahun. fikir saya... teringat lebih satu dekad yang lalu, masa tu saya menjadi urusetia seminar penerbitan peringkat antarabangsa pada tahun 1997. Saya pernah bertemu urusetia seminar dan pembentang kertas kerja pegawai kerajaan Thailand yang masih bertugas walaupun dah berusia 60... (kita di Malaysia kena pencen bila sampai 55 tahun masa tu) .... terasa cemburu juga sebab masa tu saya baru 43 tahun masih ligat lagi bekerja dan gila sangat bekerja ... rasanya banyak lagi yg boleh disumbangkan.
Sepuluh tahun kemudian, Allah swt yang Maha Esa meng' grounded' saya dgn penyakit yg tak dikehendaki kebanyakan manusia yg hidup ni......' Ini tanda, STOP no more duniawi. No way Jose!. Ya selepas terima rawatan dan menikmati cuti sakit bergaji penuh (yang kerajaan yang perihatin beri kepada pesakit kronik) selama dua tahun terus bersara wajib 56 tahun. ketika itu 2010, usia bersara dah dilanjutkan ke 58 tahun.MENYESAL sebab tak dapat terus bekerja ? Tidak sekali-kali. ... Nikmat hidup sebagai pesara amat lazat. walaupun pencen dah separuh gaji pokok tanpa elaun, cola .... Tengah-tengah menikmati pencen, muka dah berseri-seri, putih sebab dah tak kena matahari, montel sebab makan tidur, ....Rakan-rakan sepejabat yg masih bekerja, yg seusia atau tua sedikit mula meluahkan rasa penyesalan ( melalui emel) kerana memilih utk bersara 58 tahun ... bukan disebabkan tak larat nak bekerja, tandus idea untuk buat projek, tapi tohmah rakan sekerja yang lebih muda... pedihnya hati apabila dalam lif depan ramai orang , ada yang mengajukan soalan seperti, 'Eh kerja lagi, bila nak pencen?' atau dalam mesyuarat pula ada yang menyindir ' pandangan si anu tu ... dah tak releven, orang dah nak pencen ...' Rasa macam diri ni kena halau, rintih mereka.Kesian rakan-rakan saya ni. saya tahu mereka masih boleh menyumbang untuk tugas yang memerlukan daya kreativiti yang tinggi. tapi hasad dengki rakan sekerja muda(mungkin mereka takut persaingan orang tua untuk kenaikan pangkat) mengungkapkan kata-kata sinis begini boleh merobek hati karyawan yang dah hampir nak pencen ni.Pasti kata-kata yang dicetus oleh jiwa yang penuh hasad dengki akan menumpulkan kreativiti dan semangat mereka yang masih sihat dan boleh menyumbang ...Have more respect laaa dude. Kerajaan ikhtiraf orang lama. ..Lihat Orang Thailand dah berusia 60 tahun masih cahligah bekerja, masa saya kat Bangkok untuk berbincang dan bertugas pun, saya nampak karyawan muda hormat pada karyawan yang tua. orang kita pula tak boleh tengok orang lebih tua senang. Ingat ! pengalaman mengatasi beratus kali berkursus wahai adik-adik!  Eh yang duduk kat rumah naik geram dengan sikap pekerja muda ni.Simpati saya kepada rakan-rakan saya ni. Saya tak merasai keadaan ini kerana seperti yang nyatakan di atas, saya terpencen awal. Allah melindungi saya daripada menghadapi situasi sebegini. Alhamdulillah.Atau ini kah rahsia seri wajah org pencen, bukan disebabkan terlepas tanggungjawab tugas dan stress tetapi terbuang perasaan terpaksa bersaing dengan rakan sejawat dan terlindung darpada kata-kata sindiran nista yang datangnya tidak dijangka tetapi pasti mencucuk jiwa hingga membuat kita duka nestapa tanpa kita mengetahui mengapa ... bersastera pula .... nikmat pencen ada masa utk berpuitis.... hahaha
As for me .....No Way Jose jugaklah nak sambung sampai 60 tahun...dah cemuh dan setiap pagi longlai aje nak ke ofis.  Tapi amanah mesti ditunai jugak dan siapa nak bagi makan yang masih ada di rumah tuh  :)
When Cats Sing
It brings back memories from the early seventies when these Cats sing....in those days there were no MTV just the Blue Network and I don't know how these Cats looked like till now....after 40 years!  But I love their songs....
One Way Wind topped the charts for many weeks in those days....
Rubiah Lubis, Harjit Singh Hullon, Fauziah Nawi, Constance Haslam just to name a  few were the DJs with the Blue Network..... I missed them.  They were a far cry from the DJs of this era...talking nonsense (not that i ever tune in to hear them anyway...hehe).
Drink Water On Empty Stomach
 Interesting facts for a healthier and happier you and I.  Copy paste from my son's fb...my son is a health freak when it comes to drinking water, ever since he was a young boy he would always top up his glass of sweet drinks with more than half of plain water.   Rajin pulak dia cari fakta macam ni... and so happy reading...
It is popular in Japan today to drink water immediately after waking up every morning. Furthermore, scientific tests have proven its value. We publish below a description of use of water for our readers. For old and serious diseases as well as modern illnesses the water treatment had been found successful by a Japanese medical society as a 100% cure for the following diseases:
Headache, body ache, heart system, arthritis, fast heart beat, epilepsy, excess fatness, bronchitis asthma, TB, meningitis, kidney and urine diseases, vomiting, gastritis, diarrhea, piles, diabetes, constipation, all eye diseases, womb, cancer and menstrual disorders, ear nose and throat diseases.
METHOD OF TREATMENT
1. As you wake up in the morning before brushing teeth, drink 4 x 160ml glasses of water
2. Brush and clean the mouth but do not eat or drink anything for 45 minute
3.. After 45 minutes you may eat and drink as normal.
4. After 15 minutes of breakfast, lunch and dinner do not eat or drink anything for 2 hours
5. Those who are old or sick and are unable to drink 4 glasses of water at the beginning may commence by taking little water and gradually increase it to 4 glasses per day.
6. The above method of treatment will cure diseases of the sick and others can enjoy a healthy life.
The following list gives the number of days of treatment required to cure/control/reduce main diseases:
1. High Blood Pressure (30 days)
2. Gastric (10 days)
3. Diabetes (30 days)
4. Constipation (10 days)
5. Cancer (180 days)
6. TB (90 days)
7. Arthritis patients should follow the above treatment only for 3 days in the 1st week, and from 2nd week onwards – daily..
This treatment method has no side effects, however at the commencement of treatment you may have to urinate a few times.
It is better if we continue this and make this procedure as a routine work in our life. Drink Water and Stay healthy and Active.
This makes sense .. The Chinese and Japanese drink hot tea with their meals ..not cold water. Maybe it is time we adopt their drinking habit while eating!!! Nothing to lose, everything to gain...
For those who like to drink cold water, this article is applicable to you.
It is nice to have a cup of cold drink after a meal. However, the cold water will solidify the oily stuff that you have just consumed. It will slow down the digestion.
Once this 'sludge' reacts with the acid, it will break down and be absorbed by the intestine faster than the solid food. It will line the intestine. (pernah dengar di Radio IKIM tentang fakta ni).
Very soon, this will turn into fats and lead to cancer. It is best to drink hot soup or warm water after a meal.
A serious note about heart attacks:
· Women should know that not every heart attack symptom is going to be the left arm hurting,
· Be aware of intense pain in the jaw line.
· You may never have the first chest pain during the course of a heart attack.
· Nausea and intense sweating are also common symptoms.
· 60% of people who have a heart attack while they are asleep do not wake up.
· Pain in the jaw can wake you from a sound sleep. Let's be careful and be aware. The more we know, the better chance we could survive...
A cardiologist says if everyone who gets this mail sends it to everyone they know, you can be sure that we'll save at least one life.
Please be a true friend and send this article to all your friends you care about.
Luk Chup
Orang Thai panggil kuih ini dengan nama Luk Chup...intinya ialah daripada kacang hijau, santan dan gula.  Dibentuk jadi buah-buahan dan sayur sayuran, diwarnakan dan dicelup dalam jeli.  Dari sumber yang boleh dipercayai (maid's sister from Southern Thailand), Luk Chup merupakan manisan Raja Siam dahulu kala dan hanya orang-orang yang belajar membuatnya di istana dapat membuatnya.  Luk Chup ni juga boleh dibuat sebagai hantaran semasa perkahwinan.  Di pasar pagi Sungai Golok ada sipembuat Luk Chup dan sangat laris jualannya.  Tetapi sekarang tak berani nak ke Golok dengan kadar  keselamatan yang tidak menentu.  The last time I went there was about 30 years ago....so long long ago before I was married.
We were fortunate to have a taste of Luk Chup when a nephew and his family paid a visit to the aunties last week.  He teaches in a school in Rantau Panjang and the Luk Chup was specially made by one of his student's mother who lives in  Sg. Golok.
Entah apa-apalah cerita kali ni...separuh bahasa melayu, separuh english tapi hentam sajalah....tapi yang nak diceritakan  ialah nephew ni dah lama tidak in contact with the aunties dan kami berhubung semula melalui facebook  (ada baik juga FB ni ye?).  He brings along his charming wife and his 3 cute children...
Norry with Sameer, Iris and Aaron
I hope they don't mind I put up the above picture.. hehe (cedok from Norry's fb), and so that was the first time too the aunties had the chance to be acquainted with our grandnephews and grandniece.
